Preliminary Clinical Results

Below is a summary of the results of a 180-day, 40-person National Institutes of Health identified clinical study on the Varin-rich hemp extract in our ALPHA VARIN™ Complex that is found in TricoMax™ Hair Serum for textured hair. This clinical trial was sponsored by Gregory L. Smith, MD, MPH and was conducted by John Satino, BS.

Dr. Smith is a medical doctor with expertise in how the human body’s endocannabinoid system regulates the various body systems, including hair growth. Mr. Satino is a clinical researcher with decades of experience developing and evaluating cutting edge hair growth products like Minoxidil and Finasteride. Both experts agree that ALPHA VARIN™ Complex is the most advanced and effective hair formula ever developed.

  • Intervention Model Description: 40 subjects will be randomly assigned into two treatment groups, 500mg of cannabinoids per ounce and 1000mg of cannabinoids per ounce. The change in hair follicle numbers will be compared statistically between the two groups.
  • Masking: Double (Participant, Outcomes Assessor)
  • Masking Description: The participants in the study and the outcomes assessor on day 0 and day 180 will be prevented from having knowledge of which of the two strengths of cannabinoid topicals were used.
  • NIH-Identified Phase 1 human clinical trial sponsored by principal investigator, Gregory L. Smith, MD, MPH; and conducted under the guidance of researcher, John Satino, at the Laser Hair Center in Clearwater, FL. The clinical trial measured non vellus hair counts within a one-centimeter square of the subject's area of most significant balding as marked by a tattoo.
  • Safety & Toxicity: No adverse reactions were reported by any study

Note:  Subjects utilized no hair loss treatments, including minoxidil and/or finasteride during the six months of the study.

ALPHA VARIN Complex

A complete CB1 Receptor Antagonist

Blocking the human body's CB1 receptors with ALPHA VARIN Complex™ results in (1) the stimulation of keratinocytes witch results in hair shaft elongation and (2) stimulation of matrix cells which results in thickening of the hair shaft. ALL-NATURAL ALPHA VARIN COMPLEX TM INCREASED HAIR COUNTS

Participants used the All-Natural ALPHA VARIN ComplexTM  for 180 days. On average, study participants experienced 371% increase in new nonvellus hair counts as measured in the test-count area. The test-count area was a 1cm- square area marked with a tattoo and located in the area of most significant balding.
